Best Skype Alternatives - For group calls

We know Skype is a great way to communicate with each other but sometimes, Skype will have issues that could make it unusable. Here are few alternatives to Skype that feature the same type of video calling.

Google Hangouts

Google Hangouts is a new free video conferencing service that requires no downloading and is easy to log in and use. Hangouts are made within your browser, just open up the webpage and set up a hangout or join one. There can be up to 11 callers with video or audio. The one thing that may turn you off to Google Hangouts is the lack of privacy. Anyone can join your hangout and to remove that person you need to end the whole call.

ooVoo

This may be the closest you can get to a Skype alternative. The interface is really nice looking and has all the features you need to pay to get in Skype for free, such as group video. There is a couple of ads in the software but you have an option to remove all of them if its too distracting. Oovoo allows up to 12 callers with HD videos if your bandwidth can handle it. You can also use this from your iPhone or iPad. The 1 con in ooVoo is that you cant hang up on individual callers if you are in a group call.

Goober Messenger

One reason you should give Goober Messenger a try is, the simple and easy to use interface. There's only 3 buttons when your in a call, its really easy to use and works perfectly. Unlike other Skype alternatives I have never dealt with an issue with Goober Messenger. There's a friend search feature in the software that allows your to search the name of the person you would like to call, after they accept your friend request. Goober Messenger features 6 callers in a group call including HD. This software is fully free.
